Treatment for all, Not Beyond US!

All people have the right to access quality, effective cancer treatment and service on equal terms, regardless of geography and without suffering economic hardship as consequence.

World Cancer Day is an opportunity to raise awareness and social mobilization to prevent and control cancer strengthening globally. Through the comprehensive care and communication activities seek healthy lifestyles that contribute to disease prevention to promote. At UDiON, we want to dispel the myths around the disease through positive messages to change the color of pain and hope in the lives of thousands of Peruvians to promote. UDiON is proud to work hand in hand with the global community to achieve the objectives of the advanced society, free of cancer.

World Cancer Day to remember the millions of preventable deaths caused by the disease, UN agency contributes nuclear techniques to fight with cancer. Director General of the UN Atomic Energy Agency, Yukiya Amano said “The goal must be equitable access for all patients, in all countries, to the highest standards of cancer care, regardless of their country’s level of development”. 70 percent of the cancer deaths occur in developing countries, those deaths could be prevented if we can get right facilities, and trained staff were available.

According to the Geneva-based World Health Organization (WHO), there are 14 million new cases of cancer and over 8 million people die from cancer every year, with 60 percent of deaths in Africa, Asia and Central and South America. Every year about 8.2 million people die because of cancer, and about 20% of the people die because of tobacco. On World Cancer Day we must recommit to further reduce tobacco use in this world, that’s how we can reduce the death which occurs by cancer. Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) state that nearly half of cancer deaths in the Americas are premature, yet many could be prevented by public policies that support healthy lifestyles and early detection and treatment.

World Cancer Day, organized by the UDiON Foundation is an opportunity to highlight the wide range of actions needed to effectively prevent, treat and control the many forms of cancer.
